Where productivity meets prediction.

The leap from a voice-assistant that responds to “Hey Google” to a machine that senses your world is happening now with Google Gemini assistant. In 2025, Google has repositioned Gemini as more than a helper—it’s becoming the constant in your digital life.
Back in March 2025, Google announced that the classic Google Assistant would gradually be replaced by Gemini on mobile devices and connected gadgets. The goal? A seamless switch where your trusted “Hey Google” moments now become smarter, deeper, and proactive.
One of the major enhancements: “Scheduled Actions”. Gemini Pro and Ultra subscribers can now set recurring prompts—morning email summaries, live sports alerts, calendar reviews—with just a phrase. No more manual setup. That alone turns the assistant from reactionary to anticipatory.
Gemini’s capability to recall past conversations also took a major step forward. If you’re a subscriber, it now remembers context—no need to recap your prior chat. It can refer back to what you asked, pull from past sessions, and craft a more coherent continuity.
Your apps, your files, your tasks are no longer siloed. A recent update gives Gemini the ability to interact with Phone, Messages, WhatsApp and Utility-apps on Android—even when you’ve turned off the “Apps Activity” setting. That means automation without switching settings, but it also raises a question: how much control do you hand over?
For image and video creators, the new Imagen 4 and Veo 3 models inside Gemini let you produce visuals and motion with voice-or-text prompts. Want a video with characters, background sound, dialogue and atmosphere, all generated from “create a winter city night scene with ambient jazz”? Veo 3 makes it possible.
And for users seeking smarter browsing help, Gemini is available inside Chrome (for Google AI Pro/Ultra) so you can ask while reading any webpage. Meanwhile, the 2.5-series models like Gemini 2.5 Flash became default, making responses faster, more fluent and multimodal.
What I find most interesting is how Gemini is being built to deeply integrate with “real life.” On Pixel devices it now supports Gemini Live with camera and screen sharing—point your phone at something, talk through it with Gemini, get help live. At the same time, AI integration is spreading to homes, cars and wearables: tablets, TVs, watches all are moving from Assistant over to Gemini.
But this transition isn’t without tension. As Gemini accesses deeper phone-features and automates more tasks, concerns about privacy and consent are rising. Organisations and users are tracking how Google manages data, permissions and transparency.
For creators, entrepreneurs and regular users this means a shift: your assistant won’t just respond—it will remember, predict, create and integrate. It will become the platform you run your day on, not just a tool you open. If you build workflows, content, or products this year, you’ll want to see how Gemini fits in.
So here’s the takeaway: update your expectation. Don’t treat your assistant like a voice command box. Treat it like a digital partner. Next time you ask something of Gemini, observe how it stores context, links apps, manages tasks—and ask yourself: am I leveraging this change?
