Mark Zuckerberg wants AI to take over your social feed

The feeds you scroll tomorrow won’t be made by humans.

Personal superintelligence

Mark Zuckerberg just confirmed what many creators feared — AI is about to flood your social feeds.

During Meta’s recent earnings call, Zuckerberg said the company plans to add a “huge corpus of AI-generated content” across Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta apps. The idea is simple but seismic: as AI makes it easier to create and remix content, the algorithm will no longer just recommend posts — it’ll manufacture them.

He described social media as having gone through two big phases.
The first? A digital diary of your friends, family, and favorite accounts.
The second? The rise of creators who built brands, audiences, and careers out of engagement.

Now comes the third — the AI era of social media, where your feed may soon be filled not by people, but by algorithms fine-tuned to your every mood, scroll, and pause.

Meta’s recommendation systems are already learning how to read and interpret AI-generated content, surfacing it like it came from a human creator. That means the next time you stop to like a post, share a meme, or replay a clip, there’s a growing chance it wasn’t made by someone — it was made for you.

The company is also testing AI-driven social apps, tools that generate content at scale and blur the lines between real engagement and automated entertainment.

This shift could redefine the creator economy itself. Because when AI can post, remix, and optimize engagement faster than any influencer — the question becomes: what does it even mean to be a creator anymore?

Still, this move isn’t just about automation — it’s about attention. Meta wants to keep users scrolling longer, consuming more, and relying on its algorithmic curation to feel connected in an increasingly synthetic digital space.

The social web started as a mirror of human connection. Then it became a marketplace for creativity. Now, it’s becoming a living algorithm — one that doesn’t need your posts to keep you hooked.

The third era of social media has begun. It’s not human, but it knows exactly what you’ll stop scrolling for.

Stay curious — the feed is about to get smarter than you think.
